Saturday the 28th of May marked a turning point in the public face of kung fu/wushu in Australia when what was unquestionably the best championships/event ever seen in Australia was staged.

The Australasian Kung Fu Wushu Kung Fu Championships for 2010 was held in Sydney on Sunday 24th October. This competition event was held as part of Australian national wushu team selection for the 11th World Wushu Championship which is to be located in Izmir, Turkey in 2011.

Australia sent a team to compete at the 10th World Wushu Championships held in Toronto, Canada in October 2009. Of the ten athletes representing Australia, six were from Western Australia Chin Woo Athletic Association. The team received phenomenal results! Below is a recollection of one of the athletes' experience in Toronto.
